Rules of conduct for Diamond Talk & Wedding
Talk
Ignorance is not Bliss! Suspension or Banning
is a definite consequence of breaking the rules listed here:
The basic ground
rules for discussions on our forum are simple: be polite, use common
sense, don't break the law and don't post any message that even hints
at advertising. We don't intend to censor messages based on the opinions
expressed within posts, but we will enforce the policies outlined
both here, on the Guidelines
page and on the Forum. We reserve the right to remove, modify or move
posts at our discretion and without explanation.
Members are
permitted a maximum of one account per
person, regardless of how many companies you represent.
If you choose to ignore this important restriction, all your accounts
will be disabled.
You may not post commission, referral or affiliate links anywhere on the forum.
Members may not post to instruct users to check their e-mail, check their PM, or inform them that they've got mail or a new PM, or any variant thereof.
Members may
not post a "Farewell, I am leaving" message. This cry for
attention is unwelcome on a forum for adults and will result in
the thread being deleted and the member banned immediately. You
were never asked to join our forum, participation is voluntary and
should you choose to leave for whatever reason, please do so quietly.
We will NOT delete your previous messages, give you a special title
or any other special amenities in exchange for your desire to leave.
Cross-Posting is not allowed here. Cross-posting refers to posting new duplicate threads or posts, or the linking to threads or posts they have already started.
Participants may not solicit any external source to post on this forum regarding their company, services, or products; or any company, services, or products they are or may be associated with.
Participants
may not post on behalf of any banned member. And this includes the
posting of URLs of banned members.
Participants
may not post words or URLs that are censored by adding spaces, dots,
or substituting characters; or by any other means in an attempt
to defeat any censors put in place by our Forum.
Participants
may only bump a thread after it has not been responded to properly
within 12 hours. No bumping is allowed if the purpose is to deliberately
keep a thread hot or to bring it to the top of its forum to help
"advertise" a certain vendor. The administration will
use their discretion, depending on the nature of the post, as to
whether to take action or not.
Participants
may not use discussions to recommend, praise, or belittle other
products or services, or any company; without first hand experience
of those products or services. This includes companies recommending
other companies. Please limit your praise to ONE Customer
Testimonial. Consistently recommending a vendor will be presumed
to be "HCB", a "Hidden-Commission-Based" post. Any post not meeting
our criteria will be removed without notice and the user banned.
We take the "Be Polite" rule very seriously! We do not tolerate any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning.
Participants
may not post any message that directs others to any pages at their
own commercial web site, especially informational pages.
There are too many vendors miseducating the public about Diamonds
and too many consumer-oriented sites that pretend to be devoid of
Vendor control but are in fact a front. Each member has the right
to a link within their profile. If a member's posts interest the
forum visitors, they will know to click on the button.
Participants may not direct others to contact them regarding their product or services or future (possible) products or services, or any product or services they are, or have been, associated with.
Participants may not solicit the membership for feedback or suggestions on their product or services.
Participants may not solicit users for any project or purpose external to the forum; public, private, or commercial. Most importantly our member base is not a resource to be "mined" by individuals, groups, or businesses, for profit or not for profit. Further; If you SPAM our members in any manner, your account will be disabled.
Participants may only discuss details about their company and/or product offerings when the thread starter or poster has made direct reference to their company and stated something untrue or misleading, or something which clearly needs clarifying. The response must be in direct reference to the point discussed only and contain no added promotional information and/or fluff. It is advisable when in the above scenario to contact us first.
Signatures: Must be setup in your profile, and not manually added to your messages.
Must conform to the Guideline section on Signatures.
May include two colors.
Maximum font size cannot be larger than normal.
Must be kept to a maximum of three lines.
May not contain links to other threads or posts.
Your signature is your signature. It is not for sale or rent.
If you are
a vendor, it would be most advisable to read the Guidelines
fully prior to participating, posting, placing signatures in your
profile, etc.
